Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

Hi! So I know I'm a little late on this one but better late than never right? 

I'm pretty sure you guys have heard about Divergent right? (P.S, The movie version is releasing in March 2014 and the trailer looks great. I have high hopes for this one!)  If you've seen this book around and didn't think to pick it up, oh boy, you've made a mistake. Go on and read it but I have to warn you my friend, be prepared for a roller-coaster  ride. This trilogy is purely amazing in its concept. The characters are strongly built, where they timelessly prove to be brave, selfless and fearless.

If you're looking for a great series to start of your year, I would recommend starting off by reading Divergent. All 3 books in this series has successfully won many awards at goodreads and deserves every one of them.

I also have to warn you that this is based in a dystopia world and some events may be very upsetting(mainly Allegiant).

Here's a quick summary to help entice you a little more ;)

On the movie side, I very much hope that it will be just as successful as The Hunger Games. From the look of things, Divergent has a great concept and a promising cast. I guess we just have to hope for the best!

BOOK REVIEW - The Sphinx Project (The Chimaera Chronicles #1) by Kate Hawkings

Not many people can say their entire existence has been one big lab experiment: poked and prodded by scientists, genetically modified to be the best and endure the worst, subjected to daily tests and trials that would kill a normal human. All Michaela wants is her own life, to be able to go to school, flirt with boys, maybe eat ice cream now and then. The Sphinx Project is a fast moving plot with plenty of action packed scenes and nail-biting moment which will literally leave you on the edge of your seat. Kate Hawkings has created a magnificent YA paranormal book and had managed to grab everything that should be in a YA paranormal book series, from kick-ass heroins, such as Michaela and Mouse, to unexpected twists and turns that you didn't see coming.

If you haven't got this superb YA paranormal book on your MUST-HAVE list like in right now, you don't know what you missing out on but hey, it's not late at all to do so because once you have read this book, you will be blown away by the incredibleness of The Chimaera Chronicles!

All I can think about right now is WHEN CAN I GET MY HANDS ON THE NEXT ONE?!!

Yes, It's that amazing! A book that captures your attention from the very beggining and leaves you speechless at the end. . .It's a winner!

HEY EVERYONE, so this week I have a few things to share with you.

Firstly, I'm going to post my review for BaSatai by Suzan Battah! 

 Here's the plot summary: 

Seventeen year old, Armani Radnelaq a full blooded BaSatai is plagued by a curse in her blood. A curse created from hate and designed to break the divide between two parallel worlds of Earth and H-trae when Armani's blood is spilled in attack and she dies.

S'teuqoubs have been travelling back and forth across the divide for centuries without trouble. The BaSatai and Guardians monitoring activity and enforcing rules to ensure peace and harmony but if the divide splits and opens, a much greater number of supernatural S’teuqoubs will filter into earth destroying equilibrium which the BaSatai and Guardians will be unable to control. Humanity and the BaSatai will suffer and perish. The parallel divide must remain secure at all costs.

Armani has remained hidden on earth with her adopted father Elijah since her birth. She has been raised in the human way and fights her natural instinct to evolve into a BaSatai. The BaSatai in her requires her to evolve and shift, use her powers and strength. Yet Armani is freaked out by the need to shift. She smokes, has a bad attitude, must deal with aggressive bullies and control her natural BaSatai instinct. Her Guardian with BaSatai Warriors are coming for her. She refuses to accept her fate and doesn't believe any BaSatai should die to protect her.

The blood curse maturing in her veins makes her a target for her enemies. Her Guardian Karhl and an elite BasSatai Warrior Rafael are the first to arrive and prepare her for her crossing over. Her attraction to Rafael complicates her purpose to stay on earth even more. They both insist she fall into line and follow their lead but she is not ready to leave earth just yet.

What is the first thing that grabs your attention for a book? For me, i would say it is the cover that always catches my eye immediately. MY THOUGHTS

The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer is a superb written book which keeps you glued and intrigued throughout the book. Not only does the awesome Michelle keep you guessing and on your seat, she also leaves you with a major cliffhanger! And trust me, your mind will be working the moment you finish reading the last words that Mara says. Everything was awesome about the book, from the cover to the very dialog of the book. The unbecoming of Mara Dyer is one of the best YA paranormal book of 2011.

Book Review- The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

My Thoughts

The Pledge is one of the most awesome YA book of 2011.The cover is also really great, which is one of the reasons which led me to reading the plot and then finding myself reading the book. The book was intriguing and catches your attention and never lets it go. The main character, Charlie, has a special power which must be kept a secret from everyone and it was great to experience the story from her point of view. The pledge gets more and more interesting as the story unfolds. It was great read and I think Kimberly did a fab job of writing this book!
