The following is a How-To video on making a decorative but edible apple swan. There's not many things you can do with apples but to be honest, this is the most creative and easy way you can turn those apples into. It's perfect for dinner parties and even weddings. All you really have to do from preventing the apples from turning brown is spraying them with lemon juice, as stated in the video. The process of making the swan is quite simple and enjoyable. Another tip that Grant shares with us is that if you use a different colour apple, you will find that the appearance of the swan will look a little different!<br />

Ever wanted to make a mini Sponge Bob? Well, now you can. The video below illustrates a perfect representation of how to make one yourself. Even though the video is on a slight time lapse, you can easily catch on and understand what the maker is doing. There are many tools needed and those that are mainly entail scissors, a blade, sculpture tool and/or nail polish. It is time consuming but if you're the kind of person who looks forward to challenges and enjoys participating in something crafty, I assure you this will be the ideal project for you. Another great thing about this tutorial is that it's simply fun and enjoyable to watch. </div>

So I know I'm a little late on this one but better late than never right? <span class="fullpost">
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1383330038l/18710190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1383330038l/18710190.jpg" width="206" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm pretty sure you guys have heard about Divergent right? <i>(P.S, The movie version is releasing in March 2014 and the trailer looks great. I have high hopes for this one!) </i>If you've seen this book around and didn't think to pick it up, oh boy, you've made a mistake. Go on and read it but I have to warn you my friend, be prepared for a roller-coaster ride. This trilogy is purely amazing in its concept. The characters are strongly built, where they timelessly prove to be brave, selfless and fearless.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you're looking for a great series to start of your year, I would recommend starting off by reading Divergent. All 3 books in this series has successfully <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/choiceawards/best-books-2013">won many awards at goodreads</a> and deserves every one of them.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also have to warn you that this is based in a dystopia world and some events may be very upsetting(mainly Allegiant).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here's a quick summary to help entice you a little more ;)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.31999969482422px;">In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.31999969482422px;">During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her. - <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13335037-divergent">Goodreads</a></span></blockquote>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On the movie side, I very much hope that it will be just as successful as The Hunger Games. From the look of things, Divergent has a great concept and a promising cast. I guess we just have to hope for the best!</div>

Long-time readers of dark historical fantasy (Tim Powers, Guy Gavriel Kay, Katherine Kurtz) will appreciate the weaving together of mythology, occult, and religion, while younger readers and fans of HBO dramas (<em>True Blood, Carnivàle</em>) or urban fantasy (Laurell K. Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher) will be drawn to the twisted imagination, graphic action, and romantic tension.<br />

<strong>About The Darkening Dream</strong><br />
<br />
Even as the modern world pushes the supernatural aside in favor of science and steel, the old ways remain. God, demon, monster, and sorcerer alike plot to regain what was theirs.<br />
<br />
1913, Salem, Massachusetts – Sarah Engelmann’s life is full of friends, books, and avoiding the pressure to choose a husband, until an ominous vision and the haunting call of an otherworldly trumpet shake her. When she stumbles across a gruesome corpse, she fears that her vision was more of a premonition. And when she sees the murdered boy moving through the crowd at an amusement park, Sarah is thrust into a dark battle she does not understand.<br />
<br />
With the help of Alex, an attractive Greek immigrant who knows a startling amount about the undead, Sarah sets out to uncover the truth. Their quest takes them to the factory mills of Salem, on a midnight boat ride to spy on an eerie coastal lair, and back, unexpectedly, to their own homes. What can Alex’s elderly, vampire-hunting grandfather and Sarah’s own rabbi father tell them? And what do Sarah’s continuing visions reveal?<br />
<br />
No less than Gabriel’s Trumpet, the tool that will announce the End of Days, is at stake, and the forces that have banded to recover it include a 900 year-old vampire, a trio of disgruntled Egyptian gods, and a demon-loving Puritan minister. At the center of this swirling cast is Sarah, who must fight a millennia-old battle against unspeakable forces, knowing the ultimate prize might be her very soul.<br />

<strong>The Reviews Are In</strong><br />
<br />
"A vampire novel with actual bite." ~<em>The Kirkus Reviews</em><br />
<br />
"A gorgeously creepy, strangely humorous, and sincerely terrifying tale." ~<em>Publishers Weekly (Starred Review)</em><br />
<br />
"Mr. Gavin has brought something refreshingly new to a genre now suffused with poorly-concealed bodice-rippers which have more in common with Fabio than Bram Stoker: depth. His big baddies are scary, not romantic interests, and the added religious lore is complex and engaging. Don't expect another Twilight -- the story can get downright creepy, so be prepared for a return to the old horror sensibilities of supernatural fiction." ~<em>Amazon Review</em><br />
<br />
"With Mr. Gavin's video-game pedigree, I was expecting something aimed squarely at the 18-25 year old fanboy contingent; what I got in The Darkening Dream was something wholly unexpected: A period novel with a female protagonist, a crash-course on Judaism in the colonial years, and multi-layered series of plot arcs featuring a crazy cast of natural and supernatural characters populating turn of the century America." ~<em>Amazon Review</em><br />
<br />
"…A perfect blend of mystery, magic and myth. A grown-up Grimm's fairy tale... emphasis on grim." ~<em>Amazon Review</em><br />

While most people spend time concerned about dirt and elasticity, temperature and moisture, Lenny has a more pressing problem. Something is after her. What started as an eerie feeling, a certainty that someone had been in her room while she slept, has spiraled into something far worse. Something was in her room. Something that finds her highly different, extremely noteworthy, and intensely outstanding.<br />
<br />
Game over? Wrong. Lenny's a fighter, and she isn't about to lie down and take what's coming to her. Enlisting the help of her best friend, a not-so-secret admirer, the hottest guy in school, one odious cheerleader, and a paranormalist teacher, Lenny is facing her fears head on, in a battle she knows can only end in death.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><b> </b></span></span></div>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;"> Here's the plot summary: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;"><br />

A curse created from hate and designed to break the divide between two parallel worlds of Earth and H-trae when Armani's blood is spilled in attack and she dies. <br />
<br />
S'teuqoubs have been travelling back and forth across the divide for centuries without trouble. The BaSatai and Guardians monitoring activity and enforcing rules to ensure peace and harmony but if the divide splits and opens, a much greater number of supernatural S’teuqoubs will filter into earth destroying equilibrium which the BaSatai and Guardians will be unable to control. Humanity and the BaSatai will suffer and perish. The parallel divide must remain secure at all costs. <br />
<br />
Armani has remained hidden on earth with her adopted father Elijah since her birth. She has been raised in the human way and fights her natural instinct to evolve into a BaSatai. The BaSatai in her requires her to evolve and shift, use her powers and strength. Yet Armani is freaked out by the need to shift. She smokes, has a bad attitude, must deal with aggressive bullies and control her natural BaSatai instinct. Her Guardian with BaSatai Warriors are coming for her. She refuses to accept her fate and doesn't believe any BaSatai should die to protect her. <br />
<br />
The blood curse maturing in her veins makes her a target for her enemies. Her Guardian Karhl and an elite BasSatai Warrior Rafael are the first to arrive and prepare her for her crossing over. Her attraction to Rafael complicates her purpose to stay on earth even more. They both insist she fall into line and follow their lead but she is not ready to leave earth just yet.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; text-align: center;"><br />

As the modern world establishes itself and pushes the supernatural into the shadows,<br />
the supernatural fights back.<br />
<br />
The Darkening Dream is a chilling new dark fantasy novel by Andy Gavin, creator of<br />

Goodreads and is FREE for two days only on Amazon Kindle (February 7th to 8th)!<br />

<br />
Long-time readers of dark historical fantasy (Tim Powers, Guy Gavriel Kay,<br />
Katherine Kurtz) will appreciate the weaving together of mythology, occult, and<br />
religion, while younger readers and fans of HBO dramas (True Blood, Carnivàle) or<br />
urban fantasy (Laurell K. Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher) will be drawn to the<br />
twisted imagination, graphic action, and romantic tension.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">About The Darkening Dream</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Even as the modern world pushes the supernatural aside in favor of science and</div><div style="text-align: center;">steel, the old ways remain. God, demon, monster, and sorcerer alike plot to regain</div><div style="text-align: center;">what was theirs.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1913, Salem, Massachusetts – Sarah Engelmann’s life is full of friends, books,</div><div style="text-align: center;">and avoiding the pressure to choose a husband, until an ominous vision and the</div><div style="text-align: center;">haunting call of an otherworldly trumpet shake her. When she stumbles across a</div><div style="text-align: center;">gruesome corpse, she fears that her vision was more of a premonition. And when</div><div style="text-align: center;">she sees the murdered boy moving through the crowd at an amusement park, Sarah</div><div style="text-align: center;">is thrust into a dark battle she does not understand.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">With the help of Alex, an attractive Greek immigrant who knows a startling amount</div><div style="text-align: center;">about the undead, Sarah sets out to uncover the truth. Their quest takes them to the</div><div style="text-align: center;">factory mills of Salem, on a midnight boat ride to spy on an eerie coastal lair, and</div><div style="text-align: center;">back, unexpectedly, to their own homes. What can Alex’s elderly, vampire-hunting</div><div style="text-align: center;">grandfather and Sarah’s own rabbi father tell them? And what do Sarah’s continuing</div><div style="text-align: center;">visions reveal?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">No less than Gabriel’s Trumpet, the tool that will announce the End of Days, is at</div><div style="text-align: center;">stake, and the forces that have banded to recover it include a 900 year-old vampire,</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">a trio of disgruntled Egyptian gods, and a demon-loving Puritan minister. At the</div><div style="text-align: center;">center of this swirling cast is Sarah, who must fight a millennia-old battle against</div><div style="text-align: center;">unspeakable forces, knowing the ultimate prize might be her very soul.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">"A vampire novel with actual bite." ~The Kirkus Reviews</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">"Mr. Gavin has brought something refreshingly new to a genre now suffused with</div><div style="text-align: center;">poorly-concealed bodice-rippers which have more in common with Fabio than</div><div style="text-align: center;">Bram Stoker: depth. His big baddies are scary, not romantic interests, and the added</div><div style="text-align: center;">religious lore is complex and engaging. Don't expect another Twilight -- the story</div><div style="text-align: center;">can get downright creepy, so be prepared for a return to the old horror sensibilities</div><div style="text-align: center;">of supernatural fiction." ~Amazon Review</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">"With Mr. Gavin's video-game pedigree, I was expecting something aimed squarely</div><div style="text-align: center;">at the 18-25 year old fanboy contingent; what I got in The Darkening Dream was</div><div style="text-align: center;">something wholly unexpected: A period novel with a female protagonist, a crash-</div><div style="text-align: center;">course on Judaism in the colonial years, and multi-layered series of plot arcs</div><div style="text-align: center;">featuring a crazy cast of natural and supernatural characters populating 18th</div><div style="text-align: center;">Century Colonial America." ~Amazon Review</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">"…A perfect blend of mystery, magic and myth. A grown-up Grimm's fairy</div><div style="text-align: center;">tale...emphasis on grim." ~Amazon Review</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<div><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Books have been and will continue to be a part of our lives in the best way possible.They bring about relaxation and a sense of serenity. In my opinion,a great book is one that allows the reader to experience the adventure and story as if they were a part of it. A book that brings all the magic and sensational characters to life.When I attempt to read a book, my expectations for it is to capture my attention with a unique tone and feeling.Some may be Dark whilst others may represent a fun filled happy tone.Amongst all the critical responses that surrounded "The Inheritance" series,Most being of high Standards,it was a story that gripped its reader and allowed them to explore the world through Eragon's eyes.The majestic land Alagaesia,from a cold and snow filled village to a dark forest,the experience is breathtaking,a book I shall always credit for being brilliant.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br />

A secret government agency has developed a drug called Revive that can bring people back from the dead, and Daisy Appleby, a test subject, has been Revived five times in fifteen years. Daisy takes extraordinary risks, knowing that she can beat death, but each new death also means a new name, a new city, and a new life. When she meets Matt McKean, Daisy begins to question the moral implications of Revive, and as she discovers the agency’s true goals, she realizes she’s at the center of something much larger — and more sinister — than she ever imagined.</span></span></h1><h1 class="bookTitle" id="bookTitle" itemprop="name" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: small;"><span id="freeText10337579396842053773"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">I really want to read this one! Fifteen-year-old Rae Kerrigan has never questioned her family’s history. That is until she accepted a scholarship to Guilder Boarding School in England. Guilder is a very unique, gifted school. Rae has no idea what she is getting herself into or that her family’s past is going to come back and taunt her. She learns she is part of an unparalleled group of individuals who become marked with a unique tattoo (tatù) on their sixteenth birthday. The tatù enables them to have supernatural powers particular to the shape of their marking. Both her parents were marked though Rae never knew, as they passed away when she was young and never told her. Learning about her family’s past, her evil father and sacrificial mother, Rae needs to decide if there is a ray of hope for her own life.- GoodReads</span></b><br />

It has this 'power' of capturing your attention from the very start of the book to the very end of the book. I was really excited to read this book and I'm truly grateful that i got a chance to do so. It kept me entertained throughout the entire book and also you find yourself liking each and very character. You also would be shocked to find who truly is the good person and who turns out to be the bad. Rae, the main character, is likeable from the beginning and what i liked about her, was that she was strong when she needed to be. There isn't anything bad to say about <i>Rae Of Hope</i> because there isn't anything bad about it. It definitely should be read and screamed about!!!</span></span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she's spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed. <br />
<br />
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can't be sure where his real loyalties lie. <br />
Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—<br />
<br />
The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.<br />
<br />
And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.<br />
<br />
Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., have been abandoned. The Bill of Rights has been revoked, and replaced with the Moral Statutes. There are no more police—instead, there are soldiers. There are no more fines for bad behavior—instead, there are arrests, trials, and maybe worse. People who get arrested usually don't come back. Seventeen-year-old Ember Miller is old enough to remember that things weren’t always this way. Living with her rebellious single mother, it’s hard for her to forget that people weren’t always arrested for reading the wrong books or staying out after dark. It’s hard to forget that life in the United States used to be different. Ember has perfected the art of keeping a low profile. She knows how to get the things she needs, like food stamps and hand- me-down clothes, and how to pass the random home inspections by the military. Her life is as close to peaceful as circumstances allow. That is, until her mother is arrested for noncompliance with Article 5 of the Moral Statutes. And one of the arresting officers is none other than Chase Jennings…the only boy Ember has ever loved. -GoodReads Summary.<span class="fullpost"> </span><br />
